February 2026 Update

Another great day was had at Maine Park Stock & Land - Beef Week with Maine Park Vincent sold and plenty of semen sold on the day. There was interest from repeat bull buyers, plus new producers, with the Maine Park bulls’ weight for age on grass the talk of the day. The display where visitors can view cattle in yards undercover and walk amongst the herd was appreciated by visitors and the great temperament of the Maine Park and Anjouliette cattle was pointed out.

There were not enough all-red bulls to cater for demand this year but there was solid interest in the two young ones coming through, so we will no doubt be saying goodbye to them before or soon after Beef Week 27 to work in herds.

Beef Week 2026 once again showed us that there is a big future in the heavier, vealer type, modern day Maines where weight for age on grass pays off, onwards and upwards for 2027. A special thanks to Andrew for doing a great job on the BBQ!

Anjouliette Winona, a polled, purebred heifer is an excellent example of the type of Maine-Anjou we are striving to breed - growth, structure and temperament. Pictured at 7 months old, 32kg birthweight. Sired by Maine Park Terrific, a bull proving to breed excellent weight for age offspring and out of Anjouliette Sass.

Maine Park Wilma, purebred polled heifer, 7 months old birthweight 37kg. We are focused on breeding the modern day Maine-Anjou commercial cattle producers are buying and this heifer is a great example, with excellent weight for age. Sired by Maine Park Terrific and out of Maine Park Saffron.

New 30kg birthweight, polled, heifer calf born yesterday, out of Wattle Glen Glenda and sired by Wattle Glen George. Wattle Glen Glenda still displays an excellent udder, hooves and fertility at 15 years old. This female is also the dam of Maine Park Black Moocha, a bull that has sired the consistently highest priced Maine-Anjou bulls in Australia over the past 5 years.
